Project Summary
‘How Heavy is a Building?’ is a compelling exploration of the unseen material, cultural, and environmental weight of architecture, developed by Ha/f Climate Design and Make Good Projects. By tracing the embodied carbon of three iconic Lisbon landmarks, the film examines how construction materials serve as vessels for energy, history, and labor.
Blending technical precision with poetic reflection, it challenges audiences to view buildings not as static objects, but as active records of human ambition and resource use. Ultimately, the work seeks to inspire more sustainable futures by asking what it truly means to "weigh" the built environment.
The film is currently in exhibition and will be made available online at a future date.
