Poster boards for Queen's Park Picks on display at the Provincial legislature

Project Summary

Queen’s Park Picks is an annual initiative by the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) that brings together MPPs from across Ontario to celebrate and reflect on the architecture of their communities. The initiative culminates in an in-person event at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario and a series of online articles with significant earned media reach.

Our team has been involved in this project since its inception in 2015, and since 2022 Make Good has been responsible for the research, writing, design and production of all articles and exhibition boards for Queen’s Park Picks. The process, which begins with a long list of nominated buildings from MPPs, includes an initial triage, primary research, and stakeholder interview stage, all completed within a compressed timeline and resulting in original content and highly tailored content aligned to the OAA’s objectives.

The articles are narrative-driven and written for general audiences without shying away from concepts of architecture, urbanism, sustainability and placemaking, celebrating the wide-reaching benefits of architectural design in a relatable and engaging manner.
